Studio series is what Transformers always could have been.
This was my fifth purchase of the Transformers the Movie collection of Studio Series. If I had known the level of detail and complexity that the line had I would have started collecting them a few years ago.Let me start off by saying that this is not a toy for a younger child as some of the moves required to change from robot to car mode are challenging. This is a collector level toy that has real display quality. It is very posable and the included backdrop gives the feel of a scene right out of the movie.Pros: lots of Articulation, joints are forgiving and parts will pop back on if you twist or turn them wrong. Works well with other entries in the line.Cons: The instructions are not the best. Not an exact match but close enough. Takes a bit to balance due to the back.Having Arcee makes it another step in having the full set of Transformers the Movie toys. Great price on Prime days, great deal.

Not perfect, but decent
The great debate is whether SS 86 Arcee or Earthrise/Kingdom Arcee is better. And I'm here to tell you that neither one is better. Both have their pros and cons which end up evening out. But I think both the figures are worth the discounted prices I paid for them. You should know that this figure is actually a retooling of the Generations Thrilling 30 Arcee from 2014. It has been modified to more accurately depict Arcee's appearance in the 1986 movie. The colors are very nice, and she's very posable for her small proportions. She has two main drawbacks though. Firstly, her upper torso section doesn't really lock into the lower torso section, and it often raises up accidentally when handling the figure. Secondly, the "backpack" section of the figure is just so incredibly heavy. It's very hard to pose her without her falling backward because of this.I can see why Hasbro/Takara released two different Arcees around the same time. This one has better paint applications and is easier to transform, but the other is much easier to pose and has better proportions with the removable backpack section. With Arcee's slim proportions and vehicle mode though, I can see why compromises had to be made and there can't be a "perfect" figure at this size.

Great figure. Wish they all displayed this good.
Arcee was one of those figures that never came out in the 80s after the movie. I'm glad the interest in the toys has made room for this figure. It's very cartoon accurate and articulation is pretty good for the price range of this figure (under 15 bucks usually).

If you dislike transformer models that struggle to hide their alt mode components when in robot mode you'll want to pass on studio 86 Arcee. She's effectively carrying a convertible on her back when in robot mode, and her transformation is finicky at best. The doors on the convertible never seem to line up with the front end of the vehicle without having her legs pop out from underneath. Oy.
