Great Cold Weather Stove!
The Fire Maple FMS-118A worked well for me using the liquid feed (flipped canister) mode on a cold evening. As my flame dwindled in the cold, flipping over the canister restored a high flame once the stove was warm. The flame is not easily adjustable in the inverted position, and takes 15-30 seconds to settle after adjustment. The stove is built of heavier metal than many other low priced stoves. It worked well with my wide bottom Evernew titanium pot, but flames wrapped around an MSR Titan kettle resulting in lower efficiency, hot handles, and slower boil. This stove gives a consistent high flame when the fuel canister is inverted, and makes winter camping more enjoyable. (Use a medium size binder clip as a stand for the inverted canister.)The stove has no protection from wind, so an external windscreen is a must. The instructions do not provide details on using the canister in the inverted position. WARNING the stove must be hot before inverting the canister. Additionally, the stove may spit and sputter with large bursts of flames until the pressure equalizes. DO NOT LEAN OVER THE STOVE when flipping the canister. The manufacturing date stamped on the inside of the box is Dec 2022. I purchased April 2025 at 50% off.

More stable, flexible
Very happy with this stove. I've used it for backpacking and car camping. It's less tippy than lighter ones that screw on to the canister. The valve is great for full adjustment. Works great with a propane adapter for cheaper/more fuel. It lacks an igniter but I got a separate piezo clicker that will be more durable and replaceable than built-in igniters and keeps fingers further from the flames. Boils water surprisingly fast. Not too loud.

Quality
Manufacturing poor. Didn't fit pot. Had to bend extenders and still doesn't fit correctly.

Great little camping stove
I bought this to use instead of my single burner camp stove. Took it on a 9 day camping trip. Loved it! Easy to set up. Compact, stores easily. It burns hot! Boils water quickly. It has a regulator so you can simmer and sauté. I also got the cook set from this same brand. I used the fry pan a lot to make meals. My friends liked my set up so much, one ordered it for them selves.

A great little camp stove
I picked up this stove after being a little disappointed with a different one I had purchased before. That other one didn't really support my coffee percolator very well and it always felt like it was going to fall off. After my last camp trip, I decided to look around for something better and came across this one.I absolutely love this camp stove! It's still light and fairly compact for being one with a remote canister. I love the base that is created for the pots to sit on, and my percolator fits on there perfectly. It doesn't have a built in ignitor, but I consider that a bonus - I hate those things as they always go out on you and you end up having to use a match or lighter anyways. The flame is nicely adjustable and easy to set wherever you want it. When boiling a pot of water, I did have to turn the flame down, as it does create a very wide flame and it was started to melt the silicon coating on my handles. That's no fault of the stove though! When making coffee (which I've used it for about a dozen times so far), it's easy to turn the heat nice and low after it starts to percolate and has a nice even flame across the bottom.Okay, so onto the one thing I did not like - the braided stainless hose has a little sharp area where it frayed out some, that you can hopefully see in the pictures. I don't think it will affect any use of the stove, but it's annoying to keep getting caught on it. I would have liked to see a braided stainless hose that was smooth to the touch all way down. Also, it does come with a little mesh carry case. I have mixed feelings about this. Overall, I don't really like it much. Mostly because the mesh catches on things as you put in or take out the stove. But it does provide a little padding when carrying it, so I do like that.Overall, it works excellent and I would easily buy it again! I'll probably try to track down a replacement hose at some point, but as of now, it works very well and I can't wait to take it camping and backpacking more!

Does not hold low flame
This stove cannot hold a low flame. When the valve is set to low and released, the valve will open on its own and increase the flame to medium, making it useless for simmering, toasting, or warming. Cannot replace/return, will not be buying this brand again.EDIT: Fire Maple reached out to me and offered me a full refund to compensate for the faulty item. Bumped up two stars and would consider future purchases.

So stable, so great
We're so glad we went with this instead of one of the more popular models like jetboils, pocket rockets, etc. that go onto the top of your gas canister. This was so much more stable, worked perfectly, and could simmer at a lower heat than our neighbor's jetboil could. Since we were cooking and not just boiling water for freeze-dried meals, this was perfect for us, and made converts of our neighbor's after watching us cook on it for a few days.
