Being ancient it became more and more difficult to hand wind my hosepipe after watering prompting me to buy one l could handle. My Grandson drilled the holes and fixed it to the wall with the enclosed fixtures, attached the boxed hose and it was ready to use. The hose comes already set up with the hosepipe connectors and not having to cut a piece of hosepipe off to connect to the tap is a bonus. When pulling out the hosepipe it unwinds but stops at intervals, a little tug, and it retracts again. I found this to be very important as a safety precaution - no chance to suddenly retract if you let it go. There is a ball attached at the output space which stops the hose. There are 2 sketches in the instructions that shows you are able to move a lever to drop the stop performance down to two, but this would mean unscrewing a side part to enable this to be done. Me, l am leaving it as it came. The hosepipe itself is very sturdy (like what l would call the usual size) and does not kink. Overall this item is excellent for the price, very well made, and not ugly. Customer Services are efficient and friendly. I know because l had to contact them. I pulled out the hosepipe and after watering it would not retract, so contacted customer services via Amazon messages. I had a reply early the next day giving instructions of how to rectify the matter. In the meantime my Son came and l asked him to fix it. He gave the pipe a tug and it retracted with no effort whatsoever - me being a stupid old woman again 🤬

Product: As long as the product is not faulty, it works exactly as expected. The negative reviews on this site have likely been unfortunate.Considerations: If you are a little old lady/man or generally weak, then you may struggle with the mechanism. You tug to lock and tug to unlock, and both pulling it out and controlling the rewind take a very moderate amount of strength.Recommendation: Mount it at chest level.Score: 4/5, but only because I cannot account for the longevity of the product.

The product came ready-made, I only drilled four for the bracket, it is very easy, useful and practical.,very nice

I read the reviews of this and bought based on those, but I either have a faulty product or it is simply not very good. Not sure which yet.There are two quite big issues. The first is using the blooming thing. There is strong resistance, so it is very hard to pull the hose out to the length you need it. You really have to fight with the thing against the resistance. And there is no way you can use it and fight against its desire to retract at the same time. I am a pretty strong man - I can't see a woman being able to get close to using this. This has happened every time I have (tried to) use it.The second is the attachment to the tap. I can't prevent water spraying out all over the place - mostly over me - when I connect it. Maybe there is some other attachment I need to prevent this, but the ones the product comes with are pretty useless for my (brand new) outside tap.The instructions don't help - there are practically non existent.I now have to decide whether to try and return the product and get my money back - always a ball ache - or just write off the loss and buy another one. The product is pretty useless for what I bought it for.
