I've been using this for my 10 gallon planted aquarium for a few months and I couldn't be happier. The sides are easily adjustable to make it fit well on a rimmed or rimless tank with good stability.The timer is a mild learning curve but it's probably easier if you actually read the instructions.The brightness, colour and length of time are all adjustable. Present times are 8, 10 and 12 hours.

Lotsa bang for your buck. Plenty of light for a planted aquarium, appears much brighter than my old florescent bulb. The height of the lamp makes the light refract and “dance” along the bottom of the tank which gives it a nice effect

This light really makes a big difference. I really like that I can adjust the brightness and color range!

Great light and plenty bright. It fits over and illuminates my entire 20 gallon "high" (as opposed to 20 long) aquarium very well. The timer is a nice touch as well. The only downside is that even though their are multiple color LEDs the only color options are White, red, etc all at once, blue alone and the White, red, etc and blue. It would be nice for a little more color customization but honestly at the price point it's a tiny complaint. It's a great product and definitely worth using at least so far.

First off, the timer system is more of a manual daily alarm clock than an automatic scheduler. You can’t program it to start at a set time every day—it simply starts when you press the timer button, and that’s it. If you want your tank to light up at, say, 8 AM every day, you have to manually press the timer at 8 AM every morning. If you forget or get busy, your lighting schedule is off.Secondly, the instructions mention that the light “remembers” your color settings and resumes after a power outage, but that’s only partially true. Yes, the color levels are saved—but the timer restarts at the beginning of its cycle whenever power is restored. So if you’re three hours into a six-hour cycle when the power flickers or you unplug the light to move a wire, the light will start the entire cycle all over again as soon as power is restored. In my test, this meant that in the middle of the night, my aquarium lit up like a Christmas tree—definitely not ideal for fish that need a regular day/night cycle.This effectively means you’re forced to babysit the timer every single day and you have to use an old-fashioned manual timer to truly automate your schedule—just like with the older fluorescent setups. That kind of defeats the purpose of having a modern LED system.
