This set is perfect for the novice or the more experienced player. I bought it for my 14 yr old who has just recently learned to play. The board is compact but not ridiculously small so it still gives a great playing surface. The pieces are lightweight but good quality and are also magnetic which is great if you want to pay whilst travelling. It also comes with a 'quickstart' guide which tells you how each piece moves. Would thoroughly recommend.

Good size not too small or big, the magnetic feature is light so pieces are easy to move but also doesn't fall off even with a little shake, no chance they will fall during a plane or car trip. The pieces themselves are actually really nice looking and well designed so you can easily tell which piece is which. At this price I don't think you'll find a better magnetic chess set, some of the other ones cost over £60.

I bought this as a gift for a very eager 9 year old. He has the temptation to cheat and move pieces about when you’re not looking. For the most part, the magnetised board solves that problem as he can no longer ‘accidentally’ knock pieces over. It’s also a very tidy product and all the pieces fit inside and it feels more expensive than I was expecting. Very good quality for the price and I would recommend if looking for a not too pricey, compact chess set.

I wanted a magnetic travel chess set for my son and am so impressed I will be buying myself one to also have as a spare. The size of the board is light and small enough to travel but not too small that moving pieces knocks others out of position. The size of the pieces are fine for adult hands and the silver/gold colour make the set look expensive. You can tip the board upside down without pieces falling off,so bumpy travelling, gameplay not a problem and the sides of the board are marked,too help the players development. I have a couple of larger/detailed chess sets that I love to use but pieces can get damaged,unlikely with this set ...perfect and stress free.

Very pleasant looking chess for children. Silver and gold makes them unique. The pieces are very lightweight, easy to handle and well made. There is a weak magnet to stick to the chessboard. The whole set is smaller than usual chess board and pieces but still comfortable to use. Would recommend.

Really great chess set. Good quality plastic no rough edges. Nice size not too small to play at home but small enough to travel with. The pieces are traditional shapes like a full size wooden set. Magnetic board is a good feature except that if you are losing you can’t accidentally knock the board over. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

My daughter (11) has just started playing chess so bought this set, and she enjoys it and really loves that its gold and silver. A very happy girl.

We recently took a flight and this was great to take on the plane and eep the kids entertained. Good value for money and a quality product
