This is a ceramide and glycerin mix so any benefits are not solely due to the ceramide and accounts for its stickiness. Ingredients: ceramide, water, glycertin, caprylic/caprylic triglyceride, hydogenated lecithin.

Ceramide is for rebuilding your damaged skin barrier, and this product does just that! I use this one at night with my regular night cream- just a drop or two of this mixed in. My skin is softer and feels much better
