I chose correctly...
As I hold this ax even as we speak, I'll try to make it short and sweet. Extremely sharp, well-balanced, adult size heft...not for kids, grip works well for throwing, chopping AND sawing. You sacrifice a thicker hammer in back for ease in removal from case. Blade is sharp enough to use as a knife. There are actually grooves on the ax... To use as a knife (Indiana Jones and the Holy Grail..."I chose correctly")

Good product
Good size. Not too heavy. Actually, got it for our evacuation stash - just in case. I have used it a couple of times and liked the feel of it. Small enough to go in backpack if hiking.

Works well for a good price
I use this for camping, and after chopping away at some branches, it held up much better than I thought a $30 plastic multitool would. The saw is sharp and cuts through branches up to 6in diameters before starting to struggle. There were a few moments when I was nervous it would bend from an aggressive movement, but it held up well. The axe is good enough for a light weight hatchet. I split around 20 logs with it, and while it's not as good as a proper splitting axe, it's much better than battoning with a knife. Afterwards the blade still looked good. If you know how to use a ferro rod, I'm sure the small one could be useful, but that isn't my strong suit. It put out relatively subpar sparks, compared to a few others I had laying around. The belt loop is convenient, and after some practice, I could get the hatchet out from the sheath, but putting the hatchet back into the sheath definitely takes some practice and wearing out a corner to do smoothly.

Oh, Yeah!
This is a nice axe. I like the saw and the way it fits in the handle. You don't feel it, though, when holding it. The whistle isn't as loud as I'd like but will suffice. The blade is very sturdy and sharpens up nicely. The axe itself is not heavy at all. It's very cold where I live. I keep a survival kit in my vehicle at all times. This is a very welcome addition, the perfect survival tool. I'm happy with my purchase and highly recommend this axe to everyone. Oh, yeah!

Excellent axe and saw
The saw is good for emergencies. But the axe is perfect for everyday use! I have split a lot of wood, I want to hurry the process of carving wood so I need to make rough shapes, this axe does the job. also I used the axe to sharpen wood sticks so they can go deep in the ground, i need that to make shelter.

Good hatchet, lousy saw
Light, sharp, durable, hatchet. Debatable if heavy enough to really chop anything but lighter wood but I’ll give it benefit of the doubt. The plastic safety sheath is ok but the “key” to lock sticks out so harder to slip into a pack. The saw is almost impossible to open to the point of being dangerous. Also when closing the saw, the blade naturally swings down and could cut your hand. The whistle and striker seem “cool” gizmos but not really high quality or relevant to an ax. That said if you are putting the “bells and whistles” on it as an all-in-one tool, increase the quality there and add a compass on the sheath.

Purchased for water trapping
Bought this to kill 4 birds with one stone. Hammering stakes, chopping small branches, sawing 1-2 inch size branches, chopping out mud from river banks, and being so cheap I wouldn't care if it got lost. I always carry a lighter so didn't care about the starter. But the starter is solid and stays put through miles of hiking through nasty stuff. Its perfect for tossing in your truck or pack and not worrying about abuse. The sheath is solid. If used for its intended purpose and not overly abused I will have this on me on the water trapline until it eventually gets lost in the woods. Then I'll buy another one.

Nice compact design and quality
Great for in our camper van. Like the blade cover and size. Not made to build a cabin but great in the tool bin.
