Step by step, cleaned and sealed.
Take your time. And follow instructions because this stuff works super well. This is the second time I've used this product to seal a motorcycle fuel tank. Also, buy a bag of bearings to shake in the tank. That helps a bunch to knock out the loose rust.

Great stuff!
This stuff worked exactly as advertised. I did the gas tank on my 1986 Honda Shadow that the previous owner had let the gas dry out in the tank so it had a lot of rust and dried varnish. I watched a few videos before even ordering the kit and felt like I had a pretty good grasp of what I needed to do for this to be successful. My favorite YT video was Cory on MotorcycleMD, who runs you through EVERY step of the way.The biggest concern I had was that my tank still smelled like gasoline after using the cleaner, so I cleaned it twice more with 5 parts hot water:1 part Simple green, dryed it out, then rinsed with 1 cup of Acetone before moving on to the etching Blast. I also had 1 pound of 1-1/4" wood screws inside the tank the whole time of cleaning and etching. Don't stir the paint for more than 5 minutes before dumping into the tank because it starts to thicken pretty quickly. The 3 days of drying didn't present a problem for me. If you are doing your tank, you should be doing your carbs too. I did my tank first, then the carbs while the tank was off the bike and curing. You can put your bike back together during those 3 days, you just can't put gas in the tank. I've got about 500 miles on the newly lined tank now and everything still looks perfect inside the tank and the bike runs like a top.I'm going to do my 92 Yamaha VMax next and the only thing I'm going do differently is to pre-clean the tank better before starting with the KBS cleaner.

Works as advertised
I used this product to seal a 1973 Honda CB750 gas tank with significant, in some cases scaled, rust all over the inside of the tank. The tank had some very old, stale gas in it as well. I took an extra step that I'm sure the manufacturer would not recommend which is to use PineSol to remove the old stale gas and give the KBS cleaner a running start. After I put the PineSol in with hot water and shook it around, I rinsed it out and used the KBS cleaner exactly as directed. I then used a gallon of Evapo-Rust (again, I'm sure against the KBS manufacturer's directions). After I rinsed the Evapo-Rust out, it immediately flash rusted, so I used the KBS Rust Blast to treat the surface rust and leave a phosphate finish. This worked quite well, but again immediately flash rusted. The flash rust was concerning and unexpected, but it didn't affect the overall result. I dried the tank as specified (hair drier worked for me, but don't bake the paint if the paint is still good).Once the tank was dry, I used the KBS sealer directly over the flash rust, distributing it around the tank by swirling the tank for nearly an hour as directed, then draining it. I let it set and cure for two weeks, then added fuel. To date it has not peeled or crinkled, and it has completely covered the rust. The coating is pretty thin, to the point you can see the rust colored metal through it, but it sealed the tank and has prevented further rust. I admit, I was skeptical, and did a couple of things outside the directions (I don't recommend this, for the record), but it does really work.Bottom line, I pretty much did exactly what the manufacturer specified, with a couple of my own steps in it, and came out with a very satisfactory result. I would recommend this product, as long as you clean the tank thoroughly, and make sure the sealant cures long enough before you put gasoline in it.

So far, great product
Pretty easy to use, it took me a week from start to finish but i wanted to be through. This kit is designed for tank size 5 gallon. If you have a smaller tank like me I suggest reducing how much coating (final step) you use. My tank 3.9 gal/ 5 gal = .76. Do .76 x 8 ounce of tank sealer = 6.8 oz of sealer. I used the whole can an could not get the acess out. That caused clumps in the seal

The tank sealer to use for small tanks ( KBS )
The KBS tank sealer kit is some of the best tank sealer products I have ever used. I totally recommend using this product on small tanks like For motorcycles, etc. it gets you’re hard to get in places and most of the time goes on smooth and looks great. I like what I do to be right and my customers be satisfied this is what makes me like this product? It does a great job.

Give total respect to the process and DO NOT RUSH. The results will show
RESPECT THE PROCESS, TALE YOUR TIME. CLEAN IS THE TRICK, PATIENCE IS THE KEY. THIS IS A RESTORATION AND SHOULD NOT BE RUSHED. THE RESULTS WILL BE THERE IF YOU DO. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN THEN CLEAN AGAIN AND AFTER THAT CLEAN IT AGAIN. do push the drying process. White residue is gonna happen, you want it to. If it doesn't, ITS NOT CLEAN ENOUGH!!! USE A BLOW DRYER, HEAT GUN, OR AIR HOSE. THE GASTER YOU CAN GET IT DRY THE LESS VHANCE OF SURCE.FLASH RUST. HEAT HELPS IN THE TIGHT SEAMS. IS EASIER TO DIG OUT SOCKETS THAN IT IS BB'S. STIR DO NOT SHAKE. SLOWLY TUMBLE AND TURN. TAKE YOUR TIME. DID IENTION NOT TO RUSH AND MAKE SURE ITS CLEAN. OH YEAH, DON'T RUSH. Worth every dime. Check out the YouTube if the awesome instructions don't make sense. But they are very detailed and easy to understand.

Sealed up gas tank
I watched alot of videos on using some kind of sealer for an internally rusted up motorcycle gas tank. I settled on KBS because it was easy to use, and results were great. After using this product and following the instructions i now have a rust free, sealed tank that will never rust again. This stuff is unbelievably hard. The only suggestion is if you have a nicely painted tank, wipe it clean after each each application. Use wd40, or any penetrating oil on the outside of the tank to protect the paint. i didnt do that and i thought i'd just wipe off the redidue and be good...i now have small streak marks from the etching solution. my fault. but the final sealer results are better than expected. this stuff is super great! i now have a new nitch and service to provide because where i live , nobody offeres this. Probably cuz its teadiuse and takes a good week to get the best results. but worth it.
