This beef and barely soup is a good thickness on its own to eat with a spoon, I used 2 cans of this soup to make a 9inch potpie because the ingredients are thick enough, I didn't need to use any other filler to make this soup into a dinner to serve 4 people. This beef in this soup is a thumb sized chunk and isn't tough to chew either are the vegetables added to the barely grains that is all mixed in a brownish meat gravy, not salty tasting.

Campbell's always makes me happy and this one is a regular go to in the winter. I'm a picky eater with texture issues. This soup never does me wrong. So yummy! Great for a budget for those on the "one meal a day" budget. With saltines it's a nice meal for under $3! Feeds even more people when poured over hot noodles or rice.
