USB Sound Card: A Solid Upgrade for Gaming
This USB sound card offers a noticeable improvement in audio quality, especially for gaming. I have a wired headset that was having serious noise when connected to my onboard soundcard, but this card fixed that issue. The virtual 7.1 surround sound creates a more immersive experience. While it's not a night-and-day difference, it's definitely worth the upgrade for gamers looking to enhance their sound. The plug-and-play setup is convenient, and the PUBG sound effects are a nice bonus for fans of the game.

A few perks, but mostly a USB to headphone/headset adapter
So this device is a USB sound chip that plugs into a USB-A type port, and offers a headphone/headset port, a headphone only port, and a microphone in port. The device, at least for Windows, was plug and play and immediately worked without any setup. The virtual 7.1 sound processing does work, and I would say it sounds better than the unprocessed signal. The device also offers a volume knob and can do a 15% amplification, and has a mute button. I am not a LOL or PUBG player, so I did not test the special sound effect function for those games. So what do I think? It is a decent little device. It does offer a few perks over a vanilla line out. But unless you have a laptop that doesn't have inputs for headphones/microphones, or the built in sound output on your device is especially bad, I don't see this being a "must have" upgrade dongle. If you do need a USB to 3.5 adapter because your device lacks 3.5 jacks, I'd say this is better than most of those. Perhaps if you have a desktop and would rather plug headphones into the front instead of the back and your case doesn't have a front line out, this might offer utility there too. It's not a bad device -- I actually think it is quite good. It's just kind of unneccesary for many computer setups.Do note that this is USB-A. If your laptop is based on USB-C ports, you will need a dongle.

Nice Sound for Movies and TV.
To be honest, I’m not much of a gamer but I do like to watch movies and TV shows on my computer. That can be a problem since the computer is located in the bedroom and that backs onto my neighbor. The majority of my viewing is Sci-Fi and action programming and that can benefit from great sound but often there’s lots of bangs and explosions and that can make life difficult for those living close by. A good pair of headphones can take care of that, giving you a theater “in the head” and causing zero disturbance to outsiders. The sound card attaches to one of your computer’s USB inputs and I found it really was plug-and-play. Aside from a large rotary volume control the device has three sound pre-sets: 7.1, LoL (for League of Legends) and PUGB but, since I’m not a gamer I’m not sure what that last one even means. The card has two 3.5 mm sockets for headphones and one additional for a microphone.Of the three sound settings, I found 7.1 to give the best sound enhancement. It’s nowhere near true 7.1 sound, I have a full ATMOS set-up in my living room so I know the difference. That said, it did make the sound come to life in my headphones and give a wider spread as well as a boost in bass presence without being overly boomy. With shows with a lot of effects, particularly high-end bleeps etc., there was a sense of dimensionality which was lost when you switched off the pre-set and went back to plain old stereo.I can’t say how the LoL or PUGB settings work with their intended games, but on TV and film material they just made the sound progressively more tinny to my ears, so I stuck with 7.1 which was more than enough bang for the buck for me.Finally, there is a mutable mic input (or through-put) which, again, may be useful for gamers and online chat but that’s not something I tend to do so I left it alone.Overall, I liked this sound card. It seems well made and looks cool. I’m sure I’ll be using it a lot in the future and it will give me great sound without the potential for disturbing my neighbor’s peace and quiet.I can recommend this unit.

Disappointed
Our audio sounded horrible. It didn’t take long to realize it was this product distorting it! As soon as we disconnected it, everything sounded just fine.
