LEDs vary a lot - this one is great; but a title change is needed!

I have a ridiculously large gaming table light that has 16 lanterns hanging from it. It is actually two fixtures of 8 lanterns each (rated for a maximum of 60-watt incandescent lamps (bulbs) each. That would be a whopping 960 watts (or a draw of 8amps!!!). Considering the lighting circuit is only 15amps, this would be a substantial draw and produce copious amounts of heat and likely too bright!Enter LED lamps. However, the early days of LED replacements were "not ready for primetime". Most would flicker when dimming, made of cheap materials, have short lifespans and bizarre and annoying color temperatures. Unlike years past where you had a handful of recognizable lamp makers (GE, Phillips, Sylvania, etc.), there are so many no-name brand LED's, I assume many are all made in the same overseas factory and these startups are just slapping their names on them.Problem 1: How bright is an LED replacement supposed to be? This varies between every brand of LED. for a "60-watt" equivalent, I saw lamps that were anywhere from 8 watts to 13 watts all with different lumens. Note: Lumens is a better way to look at how bright a bulb is. That's how much light they throw! When it was just incandescent lamps, companies defaulted to how much power they consume. Incandescent lamps produce more heat than they do light. In effect, they are all heat lamps which also produce some light. Incandescent lamps never even used to post the lumens on the packaging! Further, it varies by lamp size (standard A19, smaller or larger), frosted or clear, and by brand.Problem 2: Color temperature is the rating of how bluish the light that is emitted (cool) or how reddish the light emitted is (warm). Incandescent lamps were always a warm yellowish light (2700k). Florescent lamps are generally cool (4100k). Now with frosted coatings, the colors can be altered to warmer or cooler by filtering out some of the colors in the light (Reveals for example).Problem 3: Dimming is problematic with many LED models (older or cheaper makes). Incandescent lamps are "analog". A filament glows due to the heat it is producing. Reduce the power, and the filament glows less. Thus, dimming is easy. LEDs are "digital"; they have two states - off or on. They do not "dim" per se. To create the illusion of dimming, they flash rapidly on and off at different rates of speed in response to less power to the lamp. They do this with circuitry and sometimes a chip. Cheap or older lamps do this poorly and a noticeable flicker occurs when dimming or need a special dimmer at the switch to work with the lamp. A high-quality LED lamp will have better circuitry and will dim low to maximum without any noticeable flicker and without requiring a special dimmer.I purchase these Bright-Town LED Edison lamps (which state 60-watt equivalent). Here is where I disagree. They produce 470 lumens. However, an incandescent 60-watt lamp produces ~800 lumens; this is closer to a 40-watt lamp (450 lumens). 40-watt equivalent LEDs consume 5 to 8 watts - this model consumes 6-watts each at full power (not dimmed). Therefore, I would call this Edison lamp a 40-watt equivalent. I am not concerned though, as my table light uses 16 lamps - I am sure not only will there be enough lumens, but I will also likely have to dim the fixture. At full-power (not dimmed), this will still use less than a 100-watt lamp producing 7520 lumens (equivalent to nearly five 100-watt bulbs!).The lamps have a clear bulb with an amber coating making them yellowish (2700k color temp). The bulb is large and in the classic Edison lamp shape - 5.3" long (not just a standard A19 shape) . The LEDs within are mounted to appear as "filaments". I placed a lamp on two different random dimmers in my home and it dimmed without flicker as well. The lamps have a standard E26 medium base. The count-6 box was the best deal as well of which I purchased 3 boxes giving me two extra replacements. However, most LED's have long lifespans (this one is rated at 25,000 hours). If this is true, and I use this fixture for 6 hours a week, the lifespan will be 80 years! I don't know if these lamps will last that long - nor will I last that long to know - LOL.All in all, so far a good purchase!Jeff

Think Nightlight

Don't expect a bright light. I wanted a cozy light for a lamp on my mantle (cut the electrical cord), and this is a perfect solution! There are 3 different light choices, and the timer is great. I keep one of the bulbs on the charger while the other is in the lamp. As soon as it's running out of power, I simply switch them. I LOVE the way it looks. Soft, cozy, and cordless! Note, don't be an idiot like me and overlook the fact that there is an on button to push on the actual lightbulb. Once I did that, it lit up beautifully.

Rechargeable lightbulbs

The media could not be loaded. I absolutely love these rechargeable lightbulbs! I initially ordered the taller ones, but they stuck out awkwardly above my small lamp. So, I decided to try these instead, and they’re perfect. Their flatter design fits beautifully. The set comes with two bulbs and two remotes, offering three lighting modes and a timer feature. I chose these because I had cut the cord off my lamp (the cord was visible and unsightly), making them ideal for my under-the-counter lamp. Highly recommend!

OK at Best

I guess they’re ok for a variety of use cases. But my biggest criticisms of these bulbs is they’re not very bright at all, and they don’t last long at all.So for what I don’t like, with the two of these bulbs combined, they don’t even come close to an ordinary single 100 watt equivalent LED bulb. I use them in the shower because I’m doing work on my exhaust fan and had to disconnect my bulb. They only last 4, maybe 5 showers max before I have to recharge them. Really wish they had a charge indicator because it’s annoying when they shut off in the middle of a shower. So probably 2 hours run time max on the maximum brightness. Anything less than maximum brightness is virtually useless in this case.I do like that they come with a remote and also a button on the side of each bulb. One of the cooler features is they are magnetic. You can see in my pic they don’t light up my shower well at all, but you can also see I have them upside down stuck magnetically to metal rack. They also come with a standard bulb socket adapter that you can hang them from magnetically. So you can technically use them in a standard light socket. Are they waterproof? I can’t answer that, but they must be water resistant, I have been using them in my shower for a couple weeks, although thankfully have not dropped them directly into water yet.The two driving factors behind my 3 star rating are the two most important questions. How bright are they, and how long do they last? The answer to both being, not very good. I’d pay more for brighter, longer lasting bulbs.

Great Option for no plug lighting

These are great! Used in regular lamps, removed cord. Placed in sheltered area outside in our yard and love we can have light without needing a plug!

Love these light bulbsSo easy to screw in and then just pop off to recharge.I took a lamp apart and cut the cord off of it! No more cord, it’s controlled with a remote.
