Not as hot as the kind of chili paste you use for stir fry cooking, but great fora variety of other dishes. Good for pizzas instead of tomato paste, especially when combined with n'duja. Great for spicing up homemade hummous or pasta. The container is sizeable, but the plastic material does make it feel a bit flimsy.

This may not be the most aesthetically attractive spread, as it looks kind of chunky in the (very flimsy) plastic container. Calabrian peppers taste (to me) a little fruitier than other peppers. This paste is great for sandwiches, believe it or not. The paste appears to be less spicy than the whole peppers that I have tried previously. I will say though that the fresher the better, whether the paste or whole peppers, because I didn't like the calabrian peppers in flake form specifically due to the number of seeds. In any event, if you like the flavor of Calabrian peppers, this paste is a great milder alternative to avoid most of the heat.

This paste looks tasty. The red color looks great. It seems like a paste that would go well with rice. I love spicy food, so spicy anything makes me happy. The size is good too. How I wish it actually arrived...

This is a 1 kg plastic tub of seedless Calabrian chili pepper paste, from L'Oro Del Sud. It arrived in perfect condition and factory sealed. This is a good size container of chili paste--a little bigger than a large container of cottage cheese, basically--but fortunately there's a lot of ways to use this chili paste. I'd say it's about medium in terms of heat level. Sometimes Calabrian peppers are pretty hot but this is not super hot, probably because it is seedless. It is perfect to spread on sandwiches just like that famous sub shop from New Jersey has cherry pepper relish. It's also good on pizza, in pasta sauce, in chili, and all kinds of other things. At the time I'm writing this it is priced at $22.99 for the 1 kg tub, which I think is a good value.

Calabrian peppers are usually quite hot (much hotter than jalapenos), but this paste is not very hot at all. I suspect this may be due to the fact that there are no seeds. There is some mild heat and it is the slow burn kind of heat which is nice. While there isn’t a lot of heat, there is a lot of flavor - slightly sweet, slightly smokey and (in a good way) not overpowered by the vinegar. The paste can be used in many ways - as a sandwich spread, added to soups/stews, on pizza, on pasta, etc. The product I received shows a ‘Best By’ date of March 2026, or about 15 months from when it was ordered. Overall a nice product with many uses…

Wow, I miss judged how large this bucket of pepper paste would be. Great way to add some flavor to any dish, and a great value for the amount that you get. Overall this is exactly as described.
